I am personally a huge fan of woven textiles as wall art, so I am happy to have a coffee break with Jessica Rousseau of Wall & Woven. Jessica is a girl after my own heart, with her love of midcentury furnishings, textiles, and coffee
We are going to start today with this awesome DIY from Jessica… isn’t it the cutest?? Then scroll to the bottom for a little behind the scenes coffee break!
What You Need:YarnStick / dowelCardboard BoxScissorsStep One:Cut slits About half of an inch apart across the top and bottom rim of the box.Step Two:Grab either a piece of yarn or string and loop it around each peg you created on the Box. Tying each end off with a loop as well. This creates what is called the Warp of the weaving.Step Three:Grab your strand of yarn and loop the yarn under and over the Warp. You can do this with as many colors of yarn you like. * Make sure you tuck the yarn tails to the back of the weaving.Step Four:When you have reached the end of your weaving carefully slide it off the box. While keeping the top and bottom Warp loops intact.
